One week on from our announcement

Issue 155 l Eka’s Weekly Roundup (24 April 2026)
A week on from the final close of Fund II , we wanted to pull the press and podcast coverage into one place, and spotlight the early Fund 2 companies we’re thrilled to have backed. A recap of the launch 🗞️ The (growing) Eka team, not yet featuring the amazing Sunaina who joined us recently! Tech Funding News dug into the mechanics with Camilla: why we’ve kept the same strategy, how our AI sourcing platform filters ~10,000 companies down to the ~1,000 we actually meet each year, and why end-to-end platforms combining AI, software and hardware are where the next wave of shared value will come from: especially in regulated markets like healthcare. Sifted led with the thesis question head-on: are climate and consumer “out”? Camilla’s answer was a flat no. The companies “leaning into regulation” rather than away from it are exactly the ones we think will define the next decade: and she walked Sifted through why. Impact Loop focused on the LP story: why mission-aligned LPs translate into genuinely useful relationships for our founders, and covering the list of LPs who we’ve been supportive throughout, including: British Business Bank, Better Society Capital, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, The Health Foundation, WRAP, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, John Ellerman Foundation, Vivensa Foundation and many others. Jon covered the Fund I numbers and early Fund II portfolio in depth with BusinessCloud ; additional coverage ran in TheNextWeb , ImpactAlpha , Tech.eu , UKTN and Femtech Insider . The podcast circuit has been busy: Jon’s been making the rounds with some thoughtful conversations. His EUVC appearance in May (as Impact Leader of The Year Finalist) covered why concentrated portfolios and conviction-led investing are the future of VC (he also made an appearance on ETN). Camilla jumped on last week to talk about the fundraise. Camilla also went on the VENTURES live stream to talk more about building an AI-first firm.
